GET TO KNOW GOLF BALL SPECIALIST JOE SMITH

What do you enjoy most about your role as a Titleist Golf Ball Specialist?
Always loved the brand so been involved with Titleist is one aspect! but I'd say educating consumers & Pro's showing gains with new product and correctly fitted equipment does for their game is the most enjoyable experience.

What’s the biggest performance gain you’ve seen during a fitting?
27 yards & 10 yard tighter dispersion with 917 was a pretty good one that springs to mind!

What’s your favourite part of the bag to fit a consumer for?
Love all of it if I'm honest but the buzz around 818 & 718 Irons was the highlight of the year - I love the variety we as a brand have, every product is at the top of its game which makes it alot more enjoyable to fit any part of the bag.

What was the first Titleist club you fit a consumer for? 917 F2 15 deg Diamana Blue X 14g Draw A1 setting - Still remember it!

What’s your golf story? How did you first get in to golf?
My Dad got me into it - he wanted me to play another sport apart from Football which I eventually gave up for Golf.

What’s your favourite course to play?
I live inland so I play alot of parkland Golf I wish I could get more Links in! Kingbarns is a particular fav to date - although a dream is to go play Pebble.

What’s your favourite Titleist memory? So far... i hope to create many more - But been on the driving range at the Scottish open with Adam Scott - Rickie Fowler warming up alongside us fitting Ultimate fit winners was pretty dam cool.

If you weren’t a Titleist Product Specialist, what would you be doing?
Probably something in sales! Always had a desire to do something salesy but working in golf is my passion love the fact I love my job.

Pro V1 or Pro V1x?
Pro V1 although I prefer the feel of X - Moving to Pro V1 (17) from X transformed my iron play & short game!

Do you prefer to play in rain or wind?
WIND!! get me out of there if it's raining

Parkland or Links golf?
Links, although no part of my game suits it!

Drive for Show or Putt for Dough? and explain
Tough one but has to be Drive for show! Being a little guy haha... you have to love it when you smash it past everyone :)
